Spectrum Officers 2015-2016

Laura Gordon
Office:Secretary
Major: Psychology (Pre-Med)

War Eagle! my Name is Laura Gordon and I am proud to serve as the Secretary for Spectrum. I mainly chose Auburn both because my sister Michelle was going here and because it had a lot of variety in major choice. Originally, I started going to Spectrum as a regular member just because most of the people in my friend group were also attending. It was also nice to have a space on campus where I knew most people weren't going to assume I was cishet; it gave me the breathing room I never had in high school. I eventually chose to be an officer, though, because I wanted to be a person that freshmen and women could go to if they needed help - and I continued because I'd like the opportunity to actually teach a little this year.

War Eagle! My name is Ash Rodgers and I am proud to serve as the Assistant to the Directorship for Spectrum. I chose to attend Auburn because of the excellent progam that Auburn had in Organismal Biology. To me, Spectrum respresents a safe place where people can be who they want to be without fear of judgement from others. We Are a Family!

War Eagle! My name is Michelle Gordon and I am proud to serve as your Co-tresasurer Spectrum.Spectrum means a great deal to me. When I first came to Auburn it was through the Seamless program and that meant night classes for my freshman year. This made the transition from high school to college even more difficult as Seamless had no programs, that I recall, that allowed the freshman to meet up and make new friends. I was very stressed and lonely until I started attending Spectrum. Even though Spectrum took place at night and I could only stop by for a bit, I felt very welcomed. Everyone there was so friendly and funny. If I hadn't gone to those meetings I may have transferred to a different college and missed out on what Auburn had to offer. Since I have joined I have learned so much from them and I hope to pass this knowledge on in the future.
