Meetings
Spectrum meets every Wednesday during the Fall and Spring semesters at 7:00pm in the Auburn University Student Center. For the Spring we will be meeting in room 2222.
Mailing List
We use a mailing list (listserv) to alert our membership of events, meeting times and locations, and other information. To sign up for our mailing list, go to our Contact Us page and tell us which email you would like to subscribe with. To unsubscribe later, just reply to one of the emails (don't hit reply all though, please) asking to be taken off of the mailing list.
Classroom Panels
In an effort to help educate Auburn students, Spectrum offers classroom panels to any and all interested professors. If you are interested in getting a panel of Spectrum members to host an open forum in your class and answer any questions students may have, go to our Contact Us page and let us know what the class is and when and where it meets. We'll do our best to fit you in to our schedule!
SafeZone Training
Safe Zone is an interactive, 4-hour training designed to help Auburn work toward its goal of creating a safe space for all its Auburn family. It is designed specifically to educate faculty, staff, and students about ways to create a safe space for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (GLBTQQ) students. At present the training is facilitated by Dr. Brandy Smith, psychologist and Diversity Coordinator with Student Counseling Services.
The training is offered multiple times a year through Human Resources Development (HRD), but trainings can be requested by departments, clubs, or organizations on campus. The training can also be broken down into two 2-hour blocks of time if needed. To request a training for your specific office or group, contact Dr. Brandy Smith at bls0020@auburn.edu to coordinate it.
Safe Zone trained individuals have the option of recieving a rainbow paw sticker. If you see this sticker on faculty or staff's door, they offer a safe space for GLBTQQ individuals.
If you are interested in being trained, let Spectrum's officers know. If we get enough interest, we can set up a special training for our members.
